How to choose your lithium battery for fishing?

Choosing a lithium battery for a float tube or fishing boat comes down to three criteria: the voltage (V) required by your electric motor, the capacity (Ah) that determines the range, and the size. At LIFE, every battery is factory-calibrated and weighed before shipping: you have nothing to set up, everything is ready to go on board.

Which voltage for which motor?

Float tube motors and most bow motors run on 12 V. More powerful motors and dual-battery setups move up to 24 V or 36 V. 16.8 V delivers extra torque on compatible motors. If in doubt, our battery simulator guides you in three questions.

Which capacity for which range?

A 53 Ah battery covers a full day's float tube session. For a full day on a boat with a fish finder and Livescope, aim for 100 Ah and above. At equal capacity, a LIFE battery is up to 60 % lighter than a lead-acid battery and holds its power right to the end.
